Here we go!!! Our first knitting class will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 7pm. I assume it will be at my house so if you don't know where that is, please e-mail me (FLhomesteader*at*jesusanswers*dot*com) who you are, where you're from, and how you found out about us and I'll respond.
Even if you know me very well, please let me know if you're planning on coming. If we have too many people, I'll find a bigger room for us and I'll need to know who to alert.
We will learn:
1) Casting on
2) The basic knit stitch
3) Binding off
If you're unable to make it to this class, I can try to hold a private lesson for you or you can catch up on your own through youtube videos. The knit witch has a series of videos that I think are the best out there. You will learn enough to make dish rags, a scarf or even a blanket if you have amazing patience.
If you are coming, please bring:
1) a pair of standard knitting needles. If you don't have any, I suggest buying size 8 as they seem to be the most used.
2) a ball of yarn, any kind.
3) $10 suggested donation. This is a suggestion. Please don't stay home because you can only afford $2, but please do give something toward Tiggy's House.
Please forward this info on far and wide! Ask your friends if they're interested in learning to knit. Lots of people are and it will be a fun time of learning. How could it not be fun with a bunch of ladies gathering around with knitting needles??? Just like 200 years ago! Not to say men can't come... I just don't really expect any to. And if you're not sure you want to knit, just come to try out my zucchini brownies! See you then!
